AVB Group, formed as VPB Auctions 1993, is an auctioneering,
valuation, and brokerage
entity servicing the earthmoving, road and general construction,
Local Government and port authority sectors. In 1991 a NZ
Statute required Council Works Departments to become independent,
competitive, trading entities. Assets had to be valued for
the transition. The restructured result produced a vast array
of surplus vehicles and plant representing significant capital.
Working mostly before then in fleet disposals, AVB was briefed
to value several of these units, and began conducting on-site
auctions disposing of surplus plant. The creation of an extensive
database of Residual Values early in our auction days made
moving into plant & machinery valuations' a natural progression.
Valuations have gradually become
a major service area for the operation.
Our brokerage service reduces
costs, and retains the critical prerogative of meeting or
rejecting what the market offers until Vendors' are satisfied
with the value established. Assets sold in this way extract
as much from the market as possible. While AVB Group's work
in the area of real property, estate clearances and farm clearing
sales has been minimal, we have staff members with this expertise,
and we are available.
We are not limited to standard equipment disposals. Over
the years we have been successful in maximising the value
inherent in highly specialised plant such as tunnelling equipment,
transformers, and Port handling equipment ranging from mobile
harbour cranes, to container forks and reachstackers. The
reverse is an allied service acquiring general or specialised,
hard-to-find, spares or machinery.
